Royal Scot three speed

Our oldest daughter (almost 18) was just given a Royal Scott 3 speed ladies bicycle. Some rust and the chain guard logo is all must worn off, and is missing the touring repair kit behind the seat and the tire pump. Auntie M passed it on to her for riding to work and she just doesn't get the history of these bicycles! I rode a Royce Union as a small child and then moved up to an English Racer. At least her bicycle has brakes!. Other than the loved wear and tear to the paint and loss of accessories, this is a great touring bicycle. She does have to back pedal to change gears sometimes but I will look into the repair cost of that next week. She thinks it is a yard sale has-been. Any ideas on whether we should invest in restoring it? Hub needs to be cleaned to read any markings, but it looks like the 1964 3 speed i just saw a photo of. What a great bike!
