This is my eBay special Mercier Kilo TT with a few personalizations. I think the lens distortion makes the saddle angle look funky - in actuality, the nose is angled slightly down. I'm not changing out any more parts unless they wear out - then I'm replacing worn components with new black stuff. I may leave the crankset silver - I'm thinking about a Miche crankset & BB. This is my first "new" bike, and so far it's been a blast. I previously rode a few older steel road bikes with DT shifters and such, followed by a fixed conversion. This rides every bit as nice as my old geared roadie with a Reynolds 531 frame and Campy hubs, and it's very responsive to quick maneuvering. This is my only bicycle right now - I use it to commute, to get around town, and to shed a few pounds.

front wheel

From the picture, your front wheel looks fine. Do you find that having a front brake on your non-machined Deep V does damage to the paint?

According to Velocity, their

According to Velocity, their black rims are anodized. The ano acts more like a dye than a coat of paint, so it's unlikely the occasional braking will cause a rubber pad to wear it down to the aluminum. As for braking performance, I think the "machined" braking surface concept is a scam - I have no problems wet or dry.

whats a nonmachined deep v

whats a nonmachined deep v mean?

Appreciate the reply

Appreciate the reply regarding the height question.

Really sick bike...maybe electrical taping the decals would finish off the whole black stealthish look.

Thanks for the kind words.

Thanks for the kind words. I've already put several light scratches in the paint from locking it up - after the winter I plan to have it powdercoated, so I'm not sweating it.

Tire size

What size are the Kenda tires? Are they the stock 23's?

Yeah, they're the stock

Yeah, they're the stock tires. I have no problem with cheap rubber - I don't skid, and they've survived Chicago streets for over 300 miles with no signs of trouble.
