Bottecchia Fixie Conversion New and Old - My First Fix
By thickbikes on 09/04/2007.
Bike tags: Fixed gear | 1969 | bottecchia | campagnolo | Carnelli |

1969 Bottecchia Road Frame and Fork, Completely chromed under the paint
Chrome Nitto NJS Track Bars held by (in photo) the original Carnelli stem which I broke (now using a Cinelli stem)
1969 Bottecchia Fork also chromed under paint
Some cheapo wheel is shown but I built a set using those Formula track hubs laced to some silver Mavic CXP33 32 hole rims
Formula/Mavic combo also both front and rear with DT double swaged (butted) spokes
Some Shimano road cranks on whatever BB was in there - not sure really
Old Campy seatpost with a fizik saddle (shown) later switched to a white Selle Italia Turbo vintage seat
Time ATAC MTB pedals, KMC HX610 3/32" BMX racing chain
Geared 39t x 14t now, although I started with 15t in the rear. Pittsburgh is very hilly.

Have since upgraded to some white SOMA track grips. The front brake is an Ultegra level long reach jobber. The top tube protector is made from a cheap Falcon grip-shift grip and a zip tie.
