I've been riding Trek 1.7 for some 4 years. My interest slowly turned from sportive riding towards touring and long distance riding, and I grew to prefer wider tires for more comfort and having mudguards. So when I got the chance to buy this cheap but modern steel frame in a winter sale, I took the chance and bought the whole bike for 550 EUR.
The orignal components were Sora / Tiagra level, so I stripped everything down, treated the inside of the frame with car cavity wax (I would like to keep it for a loong time) and slowly built it with used but reliable and higher quality parts from my old Trek 1.7, planning to use the old parts from the Kona to put together the Trek and sell it.
The mudguards are Force branded. The 27mm tires (UltraSport 700x28c) fit fine, 30mm (SportContact 700x32c) fit just barely with the mudguards.
