Came from a small town Iowa auction this summer pretty much as the last picture - missing a lot of parts and covered in thick house paint.
Used acetone to remove the house paint but left some, I wanted a patina rider since most all of these are restored to trailer queen status. Doesn't mean a sacred shit to me, being born in 85.

9/15 update: installed correct 68 orange krate seat, new bearings in the rear wheel, cleaned and adjusted front wheel bearings, shimmed up the headset nut with a purple anodized spacer but I think ultimately I need new bearings in the headset, too.

10/16 update: back to rural Iowa - SOLD.

Haha it would be even more hilarious suspended in there, bobbing along.

Yeah but they're kinda heavy and awkward being wood. I'd like to get a stuffed rat fink or some other period correct monstrosity back there.

Yep. An equally thrashed 68 only Orange Krate seat arrived today, stoked about that. Looking for a cheap(er) schwinn checkerboard mirror for it, too. Yes, it's a fun bike - definitely a long term keeper!

Awesome on the saddle!

Ah, never been much of a streamer guy. Old ass dude riding a kid's bike is already loud enough for my style...

Haha I probably wouldn't run

Haha I probably wouldn't run streamers either, but different strokes ya know.

Yeah, for sure. The

Yeah, for sure. The accessories back then were just bonkers and endless for theses bikes but I think clean, simple and (mostly) stock is where it's at. I'm willing to make an exception for that bonkers sissybar. I traded a friend a whole 26'' schwinn middleweight for that sissybar and I don't regret it for a second.

I feel what you're stepping in. Seat looks great and good call on the sissy!
