Got the bike stock at a swap meet for 100 dollars, with Suntour XC parts and wide road rims before they were cool! This has gone thru a number of iterations but I think this currently is my favorite. It's got some clearance for tires, but the bottom bracket is high enough that the bike actually feels kinda snappy. Currently set up as a commuter with a randonneur bag that I can take on dirt trails.

Besides commuter duty, I've done some touring as well as a season of cyclocross on it. It's got a few quirks though:
-the downtube has a braze on peg, along with a third braze on the seat tube, above the water bottle mount. I think it's supposed to be for a shoulder strap.
-the shifters on this bicycle have had the logos stripped, but the logo above say "Athena BB system". I have no idea what is going on here, as far as I know Athena wasn't part of 9 speed much less 2nd generation ergo levers! They've got the cool cutout in the shift lever like Chorus, and they work well enough.

here is response from the FaceBook Bianchi page,"Roland wrote: "The third braze is for mounting a top-tube air pump (Usually made by Silca, in matching paint). The Athena actually came out in 1991, one level under Chorus but very similar."

So sick!
