Dura Ace 7800 / Dura Ace 7800

I got the frame pretty much nos as complete bike, with mavic ma40 and a shimano 600 group, I like the combination of carbon and aluminium and wanted to create something between modern and retro so I just kept the frame and started to look for fitting peaces. First I got the group, I planned for a dura ace 7700 but got a 7800 for decent price, I don't like the 7800 crankset so I was happy to got a coda 900, for the wheels I wanted some high carbon rims and stumbled over the vuelta carbon pro after removing the decals they had the right clean look the wheels had no quick release skewers so I got two dura ace 7800 to make themfit to the group. I would still like to replace the seat post with a carbon version but other than that I am really happy with the result.

Nice Custom Build

What you've done looks really nice.

I would love to put

I would love to put something modern on my '88 sr2000, but I just can't bring myself to remove the awesome-ness that is the original and almost new DA7400

don't touch your r2000

I stumbled across your s2000 a while ago and really love it, it has so many nice details like the paint at the down tube and it is really cool you kept it the way it is, the only thing I really miss is the white cinelli saddle. I also have a r800 from 1989 that I kept original but for the r900 I wanted to try something new and show the potential of the frame.

Yeah, I wouldn't dream of

Yeah, I wouldn't dream of changing anything. A friend actually bought the bike complete with the cinelli saddle then gave me a really good deal on the bike sans saddle.

Great lookin Cdale! Timeless

Great lookin Cdale! Timeless style.

looks cool

bike looks really cool. gotta love those old cannondales.the polished look is neat!
however those wheel... mostly just the spokes actually look super out of place. if they were just not so wide

the wheels

I originally planned to get some first generation campagnolo boras that would probably suite the bike a bit better but had no luck in getting some
