This is my favourite bike. Period.

What can I say, it's a Zieleman, it's a sweet ride, I like the colour, the frame is a little bigger than my usual 58, but the toptube is still a 56, so it handles a long stem. Which I like as well.

Now sitting in front of me as a bare frame and undergoing a nice refurbish the way I learnt from pullup. So NO repaint, but just conserving the paint after polishing, with waxing a layer or three. There's a few nasty chips, but I've been riding enough km's on it so that the chips are just fine with me.

It deserves more Campy and that is exactly what it's going to get. After finishing will update naturally.

UPDATE: Finished the overhaul with some more Campy, though with DA calipers for the Retro Tour of Flanders (de RetroRonde van Vlaanderen). They were great in the criterium and on the steep descents in the Flemish hills.
During the overhaul I discovered that the BB is a Sugino 75 njs, which explains the tight clearance on the crankset. Will be replaced...

Wow, Sexy Bike

Glad to hear you're not going to over-restore it. Way to go.

Thanks. It came with Sugino

Thanks. It came with Sugino 75 Carbon cranks and pedals, together with the Weinmann brakes, Shimano levers and a very nasty grannybike-seatpost and Halfords saddle it was quite an expensive project getting it all campy. I just need some brake calipers now and start building.

What did you do with the 75

What did you do with the 75 crankset?

Still got it somewhere...

Still got it somewhere... It's got this 53t chainring with 'carbonlook'. I cannot imagine it's real carbon. It's a quality crank though. The carbon pedals are missing toeclips and Velobase says the spindles are known to break. I don't believe that, well maybe if Thor Hushovd is thumping on them!

You want to sell it?

Don't know yet... I mean shipping to Indy would be a heavy burden innit?

I suppose you're right.

I suppose you're right. Especially for something that would probably go in the parts bin for a while.

Really nice bike, enjoy

I agree! As you're the main supplier of Zielemans here, may I suggest you finish that mixte frame of yours quickly? ;)
