Kellys Exquisite 2006

Ergo with about 25 deg backsweep

Merida aluminum with lowrider rack mounts

Shimano DH-3D30 / Remerx Dragon / Schwalbe Marathon 700x32c

Shimano Nexus 8 Premium SG-8R36 / Mach1 210 / Schwalbe Marathon 700x32c

Shimano Deore / Shimano hollowtech II

Brooks B17 / Kalloy

Wellgo / Sram 850

Nexus Grip shifter / Nexus 8 internal gear hub

Shimano V-brakes / Avid AD10

Nexus 8 / 38t chainring + 21t cog / 26-79 gear inches

The bike started as a bare frame bought for 50 EUR in a sale. I mounted a steel Kona Project 2 fork and toured on it 1500km.

Later after realizing the fork is too short for the frame (39cm), I replaced it with an aluminum trekking fork from a Gudereit brand (45cm). The bike rode much better and I used it for another 1500km including 7 days / 1000km of Croatia.

In November 2015 I bought a steel touring bike frame VSF Fahrrad Manufaktur and transferred all components to the new frame.

I also found another aluminum fork in a sale for 20 EUR. This time from Merida (42cm). It fits the bike geometry better and it's even more stable than with Gudereit fork. I assembled it as my commuter with front dynamo hub DH-3D30 and Nexus 8 Premium in the back.

The pictures are in reverse chronilogical order: first is the current state as a commuter, then there are the previous configurations as tourer with the various forks.

Front light: Bush und Mueller Lumotec IQ Cyo RT with LED changed to Cree XML2, which approximately doubles the llight output.

Nice ride dude

Mustache bars would be perfect on this awesome bike..

Drop bars

I prefer drop bars, because I can get lower when riding against headwind.

Bars

Not only lower but more positions for hands and a more comfy ride. Love the machine.
Kindest regards
Splined
