The brake levers are a bit of visually, but I am having real trouble locating natural rubber for my Suntour Superbe Pro levers. However they have a really smooth operation.

I've never heard of the marque Banani, but with an SLX frame, they must have been pretty high up on the Italian food chain. Do you know anything about the brand? Good looking bar tape and saddle too.

The Banani brand is a local danish brand.

They have a small shop in Copenhagen and have been hand building frames for Danish and foreign pros and afficionadoos for the last 60 years.

If you have the non-aero superbe break levers then you should be able to use these dia compe replacements since suntour superbe levers and calipers were made by dia compe.

Personally I think the levers you have on there look fine. I'm currently building up something very similar to this and I'm using modern levers with the gummy grips too, but mine are tektro.

Cane Creek is producing...

Retro hoods, aero and normal routing, I just bought a pair for my Galli Criteriums.
