I've been trying to acquire this bike for about two years. A consultant was hired by the production company to add some authentication. Thus the stars rode Specialized Allez SE's, the 7-11 crew of course rode Serotta Murrays in red white and green scheme, and the nasty Ruskies has to be on either Cinelli branded as Mokba's or Sannino. This was based on his connection with the Polish and Russian track teams. So 5 bikes were purchased and set up with vinyl adhesive decals. When the movie was over they wanted to return them! No dice said the owner, but they agreed to re-sell them on commision. The gentlman I purchased this one from was Sergei Belov's ride! And he's had it ever since.
Beside being a top end bike, it has a full Galli build, which were very high end at the time, Galli has since become a wheel only company, and much of thier stock is branded by other "builders".
I will need to fing some nice gum hoods, and retape the bars (dont care for tacky fixi'k tape.

People who friended this bike GEORGEPALMA, Syrenius, vqstaphbeard, cg3288, Splined, per.k, Albert Kernberg, pullup, Tracker, campystamp, old crow, knapprobert, cannonhugodale, parkman14, Shaku, bluesuedebryce, maanster, felissilvestris, mobrien, Stelvio, marco900, Smiley, 8vpete, 8Aaron8, mafffoster

To me,

Could not be any better than it is.

recieved this interesting PM

I was looking up some Sannino info and ran across the AF Sannino you posted. I worked for the distributor and raced for Sannino in 1984 when the bikes were sent out for the movie. The bikes did get returned to us (BPP). We were pissed off about them being painted over but there were two sets of red bikes sent to the movie. The paint work was horrible and made them of little value. They were then sold off cheap. Most of the bikes went to the Auto-Tec team in Ensenada Mexico. This is the Cruz family who still manufactures bicycle parts in their machine shop for a number of US companies. Only one of the Mexico bikes is still know to exist and it has been repainted and fitted with Campy parts and a carbon fork. The bike you show is thus unique.
*** mine is not a repaint, it is actually full vinyl decals the length of the tubes. Why??? ask the producers!

A salute . .

. . . to the bike, to your tenacity, to the movie and the music (CCR rocks and rolls)!

That makes several salutes, actually! : )

Thanks for sharing that.

Nice! Congrats on your

Nice! Congrats on your acquisitions and persistence. Question: Are those red spacers in the FW or were the spacers painted red?

Stock Galli stamped Maillard

They were know for color anodizing and flashes of color, but these are stock spacers. I'll remove it and show the detail sometime.

really nice bike. i like your tenacity and i like the history!
