Daily rider with the kids. Thinking about going back to drops, clean it up and go back to era specific groupo.

Put drops on and tinkering on it daily.

been admiring this bike for awhile

it has a distinct aesthetic as it sits, but I too would enjoy seeing it back on a more 'fitting' group. Keep us updated!

I must say, this thing is extremely cool. Besides, it is exactly my size ! - As long as you only take it for rides with the kids, there is probably nothing to change here. However, as even they will grow, this bike would be - geared up with e.g. old shimano 600 derailers and shifters, clips, drop bars, maybe old campy aero levers and an all black 'Regal' saddle - an, excuse my language, blatant 'Killer', or in other words, a true 'campione del mondo'.

Ever considered to set it up similar to this other super versatile 'tyranno velo rex' here ?: node/37483

I has definately crossed my mind... Having it is the first step I think I will start collecting pieces over time and then build it up somewhat to era specs. I am rebuilding my 90 Cannondale sr800 right now but not to spec. I have painted it like a spitfire MK12 from WW2. If it doesnt look good I will repaint. Cheers.
