2007 Redline Monocog (4130 CrMo)

38cm Sakae bars, 130mm Forte stem

Alex rim on Redline-branded hub

Why would they use a cassette hub for a singlespeed anyway?

Cheap Shimano SPD's

This bike is a blast to ride on the trails - too low a gear to take it around town much. The riding position is incredibly aggressive, which gets me into trouble, because I'm a road guy without much in the way of mountain bike skill.

The brake levers were a bit of a challenge; they're apparently the only ones on the market that'll pull V-brakes without using a travel-adjusting device of some sort. One got damaged the first time I wrecked; I had to custom-fabricate a new 6mm mounting bolt with a head the size of a 5mm bolt, because I tapped out the mounting collar.

They're also reversed, which is great on the street, but took a bit of getting used to on the trail.

rear wheel

if you're wondering about the rear wheel, they use a cassette hub so you can get your chainline right.
at least, that's my impression.

Leg weights?

Cycle cross weight training device, shoulder it and run...

fuck yea!

I was thinking of doing the same thing. Road bars on a tank 29er SS. Got any more pics?

Less of a bike. More of an assault vehicle.
