Allez Epic / 56cm / 1991?

Bike was overhauled and rebuilt in 2005 by PO and has seen little miles since. Just acquired it a month ago and am finally getting some saddle time. Entire component set is Dura Ace 7400.

Removed the cross levers, swapped out the highly discussed "splash" tape, and equipped it better for commuting to work.

Stunningly elegant

I like this,
The tape is perfect. I have splash tape on my Pinarello Vuelta. It was actually the original Mavic bar tape that came with the Zap group set. You have a delightful machine there, even with the cross levers.
Kindest regards

added to cluster

this nice 91 has to be at my cluster :-)

race rig

Two of my old teammates rode these, never a problem, very compliant but a little flexy at the bottom bracket as the sizes got bigger. would not ride it nervous cat style waiting for an implossion, relaz and enjoy.
And the bar tape is PERFECT. but those cross levers add weight and complexity to a otherwise perfect set-up

Thank you! I had heard the

Thank you!

I had heard the stories about lugged carbon before I purchased but figured I would give it a shot.

I added the cross levers because I wanted the option to brake from a more upright riding position. This is my first road bike and I need some time to acclimate myself. They may come off eventually.

Thanks for the feedback!

all good

Very nice, all of it except the cross levers

Splash tape is never okay.

Splash tape is never okay.

Tape is definitely staying

Tape is definitely staying for now. I actually like it, seems fitting for a bike of this age.

You're right. That tape screams 1993.

as far as splash goes

this is the best i've seen. Still not okay tho:P

needs a like button. Or an agree button?

Very nice

Looks great but that bar tape has got to go. I'd be careful with that frame. Screwed and glued Is not the most durable and I've seen one of these that has failed. Not likely but I'd keep an eye on it.
7400 stuff looks great!

That looks well thought out. Nice job:)
