The frame you see here arrived on March 23, 2012. It was found in a barn in German Valley, Illinois and is a NOS (new old stock) frame set from 1989. The Naper Cycle on the top tube refers to Naperville Cyclery, a bicycle retail store that closed in 1988. Apparently this frame belonged to the owner of the store at one time and may have been the store display frame for the PICS program at that time. After the store closed, the store owner stored everything in a steel barn in German Valley Illinois until it was discovered in early March 2012.

We are more than happy to offer it a safe new home and will likely build it into a complete bike. The wheels will be done on April 23rd, 2013 which means the completed bike will debut very soon. Handlebars are pretty much all that is needed at the moment.

Absolutely beautiful!

The Vintage Bike Doc: I would love to have that one! Not that the wife would allow it. Too many for now! What size is it?

What a great story! I can't

What a great story! I can't wait to see this build realized!

Thanks!

I had debated framing this in a shadow box as just the NOS frame and fork but it is more fun to build it. I have already sourced some of the NOS Sante bits but I suspect it might take a while to get everything together for this particular build. I'm OK with that as I have many other things I can work on while I slowly accumulate the rest of the parts. The PR-6000 need to be completed first.
