Probably should've built it up as an upright, Top tube is short, making it hard to climb out of the saddle without hitting the stem shifters.

Lights are BRIGHTTT! Built the circuit with a 12v sealed lead acid battery, and cheap car headlights from Walmart. Adds about 4 pounds or so, but so worth it.

My first "road" bike, now with a friend who needed a bike.

Lights

Basically ran some electric wire to a rechargable 12v battery (you can see the bag hanging off the saddle in the first pic).
No switch, so when I wanted it on, I just had to connect the terminals.
P-clamped two light mounts to the fork using radiator hose clamps.
Used paint-on electrical tape and heat shrink tubing to cover all contact points.
Used black cloth tape to keep the wires in line.
Switched out the bulbs - one 10w, one 20w (down from 40w each)
Set-up still gave me enough light, and cost about 45 dollars overall.
