Shimano Sora, Lee Chi levers

Mostly built up with what I had laying around. Except for the crankset, chainrings, and bb. Those I got for 30 bucks (for all of them total!) off of Craigslist. The LA84's were cut and de-anodized by one of the previous owners. It's definitely a fun bike, and it gets a lot of looks thanks to the weird geometry and "America Fuck Yeah" paint job :)

I can't imagine riding downhill on a bike that looks like it's going downhill on a flat road. Must feel strange. Cool bike tho!

with a 55 front

Owned one of these in the mid 90's, tore it up in the Santa barbara Stage race TT.
The the UCI and subsequently the old USCF made the small front funny bike illegal. Sold it for about 00 full Dura Ace a few years ago.
Miss it but only nostalgically, squirelly SOB. Got a 3RENSHO same size but with 700c front and back, handles like a dream. In the middle of a full Japanese rebuild.

That 3Rensho is niiice! And yeah, this thing handles very strangely, it's tough to get up hills, and not very stable going down them. Still very fun to ride though :)
