nice job...

putting a brake on it, now all you have to do is put bartape on and sell that hed3 for a good street wheelset ha

HED 3 on backwards. Valve to drive-train side.

What is that dot where the spoke meets the rim? Magnet?

Fixed it ;)

Hum, I didnt think about

Hum, I didnt think about that... Having the valve to the drive train side, is it just a practical thing, or is it a real problem?

edit: ok, I looked into it, and they're actually made to spin in one direction... thanks for noticing it ^^ i'll change that.

if you look carefully at the

if you look carefully at the blades they are airfoil in design. Leading edge is rounded and tapered edge is trailing. Think of an airplane wing. With the orientation you have the "sharper" edge is leading. Although this seems intuitive to most, it is improper.

What is that round thing? A magnet?

An airplane wing generates

An airplane wing generates lift.

For a wing to produce

For a wing to produce "lift", it must be oriented at a suitable angle of attack relative to the flow of air past the wing. When this occurs the wing deflects the airflow downwards, "turning" the air as it passes the wing.

exactly so it's not like an

exactly so it's not like an airplane wing at all. The aero shape of a HED spoke is symmetrical unlike an airplane wing.
No wiki quotes here

Sorry buddy, but it is an

Sorry buddy, but it is an airfoil. Which is the shape of airplane wings. So it IS like an airplane wing in design, albeit the orientation is not angled.

Yep no arguing it's an

Yep no arguing it's an airfoil in shape. And it's also aerodynamic (reduces drag) but that's where the similarities to an airplane end. That angle of attack you quoted, however small is a really big deal. Like staying airborn or not.....

I was only talking about it

I was only talking about it from a form perspective. Rounded leading edge tapered trailing edge. Of course we don't want our front wheel's producing lift.

Ok :) I suppose it's a

Ok :)

I suppose it's a magnet. I bought the wheel like that. Pardon my ignorance, but what are these things for?

I don't know if its a magnet

I don't know if its a magnet but I assume it is. It's for a cycling computer.

Oh ok, it makes sense, I

Oh ok, it makes sense, I could think of any other use for this thing.
