My old commuter frame got dressed for TT duty. Riding it is a rather solid feeling despite the not top of the line tubing. The rather mixed up choice of components are what I had at the moment and I see little reason to build it like a catalogue bike.
A more appropriate tubular front wheel is available but I couldn't wait to get it out on the roads.
Properly equipped, though temporary, with a Campagnolo Shamal on the last photo.
Update July 2012:
I got a Gipiemme Cronospecial 100AA/CC crankset from a kind friend of mine. I also got hold of a pair of "spoon" Cronosprint Aero 800CS shifters (~'84), as well as a pair of Cronosprint Aero 300CA pedals (~'84) in the rare silver version. Just need nice GPM aero seat post and I'm all set. Other changes that is under consideration would be a non black 40-42 handlebar, the 44 is a little too wide, and also some Weinmann/Modolo aero brake levers.
It rides really smooth and shifts pretty well and easy. Hopefully I'll take some photos with the new set-up soon.
