This bike was my dads racer and it lay rusting for years in his shed. It was originally a 10 speed with Campagnolo Gran sport components except for the Mafac Top 63 Brakes. I took it from the shed in September 2010, stripped it, re-chromed it and had it resprayed and then fitted replacement decals I made myself from waterslide decal paper. I had the paintwork and the decals clearcoated and finally put all of the parts back together in June 2011. The bike is my "sunny weather" daily commuter and is the first one I have ever restored. Great work. I had one of these many many years ago back in the Uk. I lived very near the Barton Upon Humber Falcon factory. You have a superb machine. Classic.
Great Decal work by the way.

Retro Steel

ATB That is really sharp, and even cooler as it was your fathers racer.I didn't know you could make decals or get water slide decal paper.Interesting.

Water slide paper

Cheers for the praise.

I took digital photos of the old decals and used Paint on my computer to edit them. I then printed the decals on waterslide paper using a digital laser jet printer.

I got the paper from these guys:

The decals are very fragile but once a couple of layers of clearcoat go over them they are fine. For more images of the renovation look at the link below:

The only decal I bought was the Reynolds 531 decal as it is gold and my printer cant print in gold
