Edit -- Added photos showing new bars and strange but comfortable cockpit.
I'm waiting for a new stem that will add a bit of height and a front rack. It's turning into a po' boy's porteur.
Originally bought it in the spring of 2001 for 175 new. It suffered the weather on the east coast and here in SoCal.
It took 2 months of free time (not consecutive hours) to rid the metal of as much rust and oxidation as possible, replace cables, retouch paint chips, and replace various bits here and there. A labor of love.
Not the worlds lightest bike. But certainly not as heavy as the Eletrical Banana UAV (Urban Assault Vehicle) in it's current state.
Its a fun project bike. I've learned a lot. Like don't leave it in the rain and sun.
