Gear ratio on that bike was

Gear ratio on that bike was 48x17. I purchased the frame with the chainstays like that. That FTP was one of the redesigned models that had different chainstays so that you could run other cranks other than an FSA.

As with every other track bike, yes. But it's minimal so it doesn't become that big of a concern.
