Built this up from an abandoned frame... A Favorit!
Cold-war era Czechoslovakian. The Iron Curtain was a strange filter for technology. Time warpage.

Cranks came from a free bin; 165, 110 BCD = score! I rode this for several years as a single-speed. A prime candidate, no cable stops or mech hanger, nice forged horizontal dropouts (Campy knockoffs). Superfun! After diagnosing some front-end instability to slightly bent forks, i upgraded with the carbon. The YST headset clamps onto the threadless steerer.

Then, i found a roll of green reflective tape at a surplus store. Eureka! Taped a whole freakin' bike with it. [The tapered tubes were hellish.] It's quite brittle; likes to crack and tear under stress. Same stuff that goes on street signs. Okay, where was i? Aren't you glad you read this far? No? Anyway, when i sold that bike there was a hole in my life, so the Favorit needed taping. Its purple paint was cracking and holding in moisture. Not good. Just did the main triangle this time, and sectioned off the tape around the lugs. Looks amazing from a car at night. Or in flash photos.

Wheelset upgrade once the fixed bug finally bit...

A lot of stem, eh? (long legs + short torso) The saddle looks like a pillowtop, but is actually nice and firm, with a crazy-thick plastic covering.

Makes a great late night hi-viz ride and grocery-getter.
