Rock Shox SL Pilot Air

Here’s my 1995 GT Tequesta “Team Scream.” I plan on making it into a single speed as a winter project since I have my customized GT Avalanche (only OEM part is the frame) for the trails.
So far the upgrades to the Tequesta include; Rock Shox Pilot SL Air fork, converted the cantilever brakes to Tektro Quartz linear pull, GT Avalanche stem/ bars, Kenda Nevegal rubber (replacing with semi slicks), Cannondale Saddle, Sram grips.
I’ve been reading Sheldon Brown’s articles on converting MTB to single or fixed. Not yet ready for the fixed but love the idea of a low maintenance NYC street bike. The drive train is the original Shimano STX 21 speed and it constantly needs adjustment. Since I have vertical dropouts I’ll have to throw on a chain tensioner, replace the cassette with a single cog and probably go with a 42T sprocket. Hopefully I can keep the STX cranks because I want to keep the cost down. Any feedback to riders who’ve made similar conversions is greatly appreciated!!
