Bike has front and rear rack/fender braze-ons. It is a repaint, due to incipient rust bubbling under the paint, which I felt I had to address.

McLean Fonvielle... What a talent and loss.

I consider McLean Fonvielle to be one of the most compelling frame builders, eschewing all modern convenience, running a shop that hearkened back to years gone by, even in the 70s. Tragic that he died at 29. He's buried a few miles from where I live now. He was a craftsman and character in the true sense. I'm always on the lookout for a racing frame from his hands though almost as rare as hen's teeth.

I love the McLean Fonvielle article by Mike Dayton, a UNC-Chapel Hill student at the time. It's well worth the read, giving you a sense of McLean in only a few paragraphs. Perfect ending...
