This was my first conversion project, using my dad's Raleigh Touring bike from college. I kept all of the stock parts except for the wheelset and saddle (and later the brake), and was even able to find a magic gear with one of the original chainrings despite the vertical dropouts. Eventually the bottom bracket gave out on me after all the abuse, so I retired her after many years of service.
