The original owner tried to trade this bike in on a "modern" 1990's bike.He told me there was less than 200 miles on it.
The knucklehead at the shop he took it to wouldn't give him the One Fifty he wanted in trade. So I did. Practically new with a pump to match.Purchased as a complete bike pretty much as pictured.Yahoo!

People who friended this bike the fumingator, georgecostansa, lomax71, Vagrant, newforker, oldmuthariley, Zephyrus, gridplan, carbon fiber15, chku, osmium, campystamp, bdawe, rburnham13, A-ko, sibkis, Fckbikes, per.k, parkman14, mobrien, vqstaphbeard, Bsychopath, marco900

Great Story

Love that story! What a stroke of amazing luck for this one. Does not happen too often as most who buy a Sachs, surely know what it is. You couldnt have bought a China made fixed gear frame for that.

Amazing story

The seller had 2 bikes for sale . A low end Panasonic in a small frame size and the 60 CM Sachs. His ad in the Merchantdiser paper did not indicate size of either bike. The Sachs was way to big for him and the seatpost was completely inserted. He had hoped I'd be interested in the Panasonic and not the Sachs but I was there for one purpose. When he wheeled the Sachs up from his basement I saw it was just my size and was glad he made the mistake of buying way too big.
He told me the trade in story and a tear came to my eye.Gave him 0 cash and made outta there.I've made many excellant bike purchases but getting a fine machine like this for the price of a cogset will never be beaten.

Absolutely amazing. I thought I had some good deals. This one is crazy good. The chance of it being in your size AND a Sachs is as if three angels descended on your shoulder to lead you to the two-wheeled gates.

You really lucked out.

You really lucked out. That's got to be the most beautiful bike of his I've seen. I like the subtle paint scheme and matching anodized handlebars. It reminds me of a Brian Baylis.
