mmm

this is the best looking TT on this site in my opinion. I love the paint and the grips on this beast. The chrome accents remind me of a Schwinn Madison but I dig this one wayyy more.

Toe straps

What sort of straps are they? Like the brown and buckles!

Plemons Straps- very comfy

what stem will you get for your 1" column?

Shim for 1 1/8 stem = suck. jarring, moving. I used a legit stem too (steel, made for column ; not beercan). Therefore, I set out on a mission to find a 1" stem and the only thing I could find that was commercially available was this: http://store.icyclesusa.com/1-inch-threadless-road-stem-260-120mm-silver-p32308.aspx Functionally, it's okay. It feels alot better than having a shim. But this stem is quite ugly. It's flat and skinny with ugly tig welds and it only has 2 bolts on the faceplate. I would love to hear what you're planning on getting (if it doesn't involve a shim)

nice fucking bike btw. the chrome is hot. brown and orange. goddamn.

thanks for the feedback

man, i wish i had a solution for you. When I bought this frame from bikeisland, I honestly had no clue what I was getting myself into... mainly, if I had known about the sizing of forks, stems, and seatposts, I would've known right away that this frame was going to be a pain in the ass to outfit... I made the same gripe you did about the stem size to another kilo owner on this site.. in the end I went with a shim, not ideal I guess, but hasn't caused me any issues (knock on wood)... Im going with a VO 90mm stem (just came in today) However I was really into the nitto ct-80, or ct-81.. real nice, too pricey tho...

ya,...

that's exactly what i bought - 90 mm VO. i put it on my bianchi pista (which also has a 1 in column; wtf?!). it sucked. jarring noises, slight movements. not a tight, quiet feel at all. i replaced that one with one of those ugly giant stems. i left my kilo as is with the stock (which looks a helluva lot better than the giant stem). anyway, nice job on your kilo.

steerer tube shim

thomson makes a steerer tube shim that works good from 1" to 1.125". I have it on kilo tt with a thomson stem. It was only like 8 bucks and worth the upgrade to the many more options over 1" stems.

damn

even with a shim? i wonder if this is typical... hope not

Chrome looks great! I love

Chrome looks great! I love the bar wrap straps and saddle goes great!
