Awesome American-made lugged Schwinn with a modern drivetrain, Downtube Shifters, and a classic Japanese Groupo. This bike weighs in at 22.5lbs - pretty light for an older steel bike.
EDIT: Weight is down to 20.5 lbs.

I bought this for 25 dollas on Craigslist and after some research discovered that it and some Le Tour 12.2's were the last non-Paramount Schwinns to be produced in America.
The frame is super light and of great quality. I replaced the 27" wheels with 700c, tuned the derailleurs (which were nearly un-rideable) nabbed a new fluted seatpost for it, and put on a nice saddle and bar tape.

In the process of getting everything updated, but I'll probably leave the DT shifters and Dia-Compe 500 Brakes as I really like both.

The Zelfal Frame Pump is original and gives it that classy touring bike look.

Update: Added a Carbon Fork for 1" threaded headset.
Nashbar RD-1 front wheel in black.
Cut off extra seatpost and drilled out post below clamp for weight.

The Vittoria Rubino Pro's are some of the best rubber i've ever had on a bicycle.

you can cut weight with

you can cut weight with pedals, are those m-520s?

yeah they are - I used to get pro-form on Crank Brothers stuff, I will start again pretty soon so I think I'm going to pick up some eggbeaters - think those are fairly high-end?

Nice carbonkiller
I need to get some photos to you.

There's a Prologue out there with Bontrager Race, 2x9 Ultegra, that is bleached, it's so clean....

Ride a bike. Be 12 again.
