I started this as a project based on a bike I got pretty cheap, that already had a fixed wheelset on it. It's a low-end Crescent but with a decent light frameset. What I did was to sand the frame down, paint it with rust primer/car paint and put on used parts I either had laying around or got from ebay/forums. The only new stuff are the pedals and the front brake. I've been trying to keep the budget down as much as possible as I'm using this as an everyday beater bike for just getting around town. I'm pretty happy with it, feels stable and fast, chainline is really nice considering the stock crankset and BB. Skidding is a PITA with 35mm tires though, hence the front brake..
