This is my first fixed gear bike since riding my dad's track Paramount in the late sixties.

handlebar

I like very much the dirt drop of this handlebar!can you tell me wich is? schwinn original or another brand? I need one of this design for my treck (not track) bike.

I like them too...

I've looked closely for any markings that would identify the maker, but couldn't find anything. The Schwinn specs simply say "Handlebar: Alloy Track 31.8"...

The bend shape is damn near perfect IMHO.

do want

have u weighed it?

Yes; it's disappointing...

As delivered it weighed 10.83 kg (23.85 pounds); that's more than 4 pounds (!) heavier than the 1986 Schwinn Madison. I'm going to disassemble it over the next week or so and weigh everything to find out where the weight is. I suspect a lot of it is in the crank and rims. I don't think it's in the 853 frame or the chromoly fork.

that's almost as heavy as my 2009 madison as it is currently set up.
looking forward to what you come up with though because i am very interested in the bike, specifically the frame.

I like those bars

I agree...

This is no Paramount, but OTOH it's waay less expensive. So far, it's been lots of fun.
