What is the advantage to using a wooden rim? Does it go out of true easier than a metal one?

Tech question....

What type of pads are recommended for use with wooden rims? Also, is there any risk of fire while braking during a high speed descent?

hy michael,

you can use those pads which are common for carbonfiber rims. regular ones do also. the rims wont burn, unless you put some additional gasoline on them. expect a barbecue smell (which is really yummi yummi, believe me!) when you brake the first times, but this stops after some braking!
