Unmistakable Italian craftsmanship at its finest, born in a period of time when detail and style was highly regarded and unlike the mass produced Asian cookie cutter frames of later times. (No disrespect for those that are mass produced but the emphasis is on the "Built one at a time and handbuilt by one individual with care and love") Dressed in appropriate and period correct Campagnolo Nuovo/Super Record Gruppo. Highlights include Pantographed Chain Ring, NOS 1978 R1 Cinelli Stem, Cinelli Criterium Handle Bars, extremely hard to find NOS Campagnolo, Pre 1977 Super Record Brakes with flat quick Release Levers and World Globe Natural Gum Brake Hoods, Tan Tressostar Cotton Bar Wrap with Amber Shellac, shown with Polished Alloy Mavic Module 3 with Campagnolo Record Low Flange Hubs, Curved Quick Release Levers) and an ultra durable, super comfortable, Brooks manufactured,1965, Lycett B-15 Swallow.
The Pearl White Paint is in nice condition but has battle scars from use over the years shown as small nicks here and there. The decals, though not perfect are in excellent overall condition. The Prancing Horse on the Head Badge, reminiscent of the Ferrari Logo is absolutely beautiful and in perfect condition.
Manufactured in Italy by the talented craftsmen who built the Colnagos and made of Columbus SL (Supperleggera) Tubing with Campagnolo Drop Outs and Campagnolo Bottom Bracket Guides, its geometry is not unsimilar to its contemporary, the Colnago Super, and is in every respect a Colnago. Other than small details that distinguish this unit from the Colnagos, it is virtually the same with the same ride and handling characteristics. Beautiful "C" cutouts in the lower head lug and shoulders of the fork crown and a "C" cut out in the Bottom Bracket. A 1980s NOS Cobra Water Bottle adds a distinctive touch.
Currently wearing period correct, Campagnolo, pre CPSC flat lever quick release levers and a custom Lycett B-15 saddle similar to the one pictured.
