I purchased this bike on eBay with a mix of Shimano 600 and Ultegra, with Sora shifters. I ended up purchasing a Dura-Ace 7700 grouppo separately, but the right side shifter jammed and well... now I have a Dura-Ace 7700 paper weight. Seeing how much the shifters alone costs, paired up with the fact that Shimano STI shifters are known to fail often, I decided to go for the "Shimergo" setup. Paring 10-speed Campagnolo shifters with a Shimano 8/9 speed drivetrain.
Swooped on a pair of carbon Campagnolo Centaur shifters and it works great.
