The Mallard 700's are polished w/o anodizing. I don't believe they made them with a gold anodized finish. The Mallard Course freewheel on the spare set is gold anodized.

so were these a limited addition then or designed for race?
p.s. i ride an earlier PR10 with a mix of new parts. Its my dream bike and always rides amazing, maybe when im older i'll pick one up like this bike here, something to look forward to i guess.

If you mean the PY10, they were custom-order. Not technically limited, but rather exclusive. The only limited versions made were a run of 400 (I think) commemorative models in '77 following Thevenet's win, and the original 1974 team-only issue (public couldn't get them until 1975) PY10s.

See if you can try out a PX10 someday. I'd be curious to hear how the PR and the PY compare.
