My first decent bike. When new, it was a conventional 10-speed with French & English components.
After I got my Fuso, I converted it to a commuter, using an alloy shell Sturmey Archer 5-speed hub.
I wanted an aluminum SA front drum brake hub to go with it, but all I could find at the time was a steel one. A friend of mine built these great wheels.
Until recently, I used the old 42T inner chainring (drilled for lightness ;-) of the Stronglight TS crankset. I don't know what possessed me to specify a 21T rear cog - just didn't know what I was doing. I believe the rear cog is a Shimano freewheel cog, used on a threaded carrier in the SA 5-speed hub. Gearing was way too low. I had a surplus Stronglight 49D crankset from my Follis project, and bought a brand new 48T TA Pro 5 Vis chainring from Boulder Rene Herse bicycles - much better now.
