That's a curious decaleur arrangement you have in the third picture. What's the piece that does it, and did you buy it. or make it yourself? How well does it manage side-to-side sway?

I've been searching for a decaleur that works with centerpull brakes, but VO discontinued their stem-mount version and the Berthoud ones cost a ton. The VO headset-mounted decs block the straddle cable, so that's out.

how much load?

I've taken my own Ace-framed bike on some long rides recently and I find it very comfortable. So much so that I'm wondering if I can use it for some light touring duty. With that in mind, how does your bike handle with moderate loads? I'd appreciate any experiences you can share. Thanks!

its only gotten better

since the last time i've seen it.

I'll look for your bike

I'll look for your bike around town!

love it

dingle setup sweetens the build even more. Well done.

Nice work!

Beautiful job...that bike is quite an eye-catcher. Did you add that gold trim on the edges of the lugs? Very elegant!

I recently acquired a Fuji Ace frame from 1989 and I'm thinking about a similar treatment. I'm wondering just how much tire I can fit under a 35mm fender on an Ace frame? I'd like to go with a 28mm, but it might not leave enough clearance. Any thoughts?

i ran into issues with

i ran into issues with anything larger than 23 in the front. the rear i had more wiggle room, could go up to a 25-or 27 i think, really depends on the tire you know? I would think you could try running a 45mm fender, that might allow for more wiggle room. Velo orange has the 45mm fenders on sale right now if i recall. I did do the lug lining myself. one of these days i will update the photos to the bikes current setup, french handlebar bag + vo front rack, surly dingle cog with an old asc 2 speed freewheel on the other side, matching with a double up front. recently did more pin striping on the frame.

This is a very unique bike.
