I understand you don't have this bike anymore... but how did you size it?

From what I've found the seat tube is always shorter than the top tube on these... significantly. When determining your frame size did you just go by the top tube measurement then? or did you approximate the effective seat tube c-c if the top tube was level?

I bought this under the impression it was a 58cm. If I remember correctly, it has a 56cm seat tube c-t, and a 58cm actual top tube c-c. Thanks for your interest; are you familiar with these Japanese Bianchis? I liked this bike very much; loved the frame quality and overall build.

I'm somewhat familiar, looking into buying a tangent, hard to pick the right size. One I located the seller says it has a 51cm seat tube c-c and a 55 cm top tube c-c. Judging by the head tube size however, it definitely looks much larger than a 51cm bike. I've also handled one that someone claimed was a 50cm frame, and it seemed much smaller. Hard to know whats my size.

What size normal sized frame do you usually ride? You think the top tube length is about on with what size the bike fits as (c-c)?

I like frames with top tubes 56-57cm long. It was a deceptively big bike for its seat tube, as you said. As far as a seat tube c-c measurement, the Tangent fit maybe like a conventional 60 or 61cm seat tubed frame with the 58cm actual (and longer effective) top tube. Sounds like that 51cm Tangent would fit me better :P

What top tube length do you normally prefer?

tangent sizing

I ride a 55-56cm road bike, and prefer them to be square, so about the same length. Even shorter would be better, ha.

Sounds like the 55cm will be my buy then, if I can get this guy to continue to reply to my emails. Going to set it up pretty similar to yours- aggressive commuter/tourer.

Nice hard to find bike you might get 450.00 for it

No mo

cyclocross racing?

btw, you might want to move that fork(on your floor)! you could puncture a tire with that bugger!
