Later Vitus Grand Record in mint condition. Ride quality is excellent: smooth but very spirited, particularly on hills.

Pie plate

Normally, the pie plate would be instant frisbee for the dog (and I'd get rid of the rear reflector while we're at it). But given the pristine originality of this thing, I have to leave it. Thanks for the comments.

Nice bike

Does it have a wheat ridge cyclery sticker on it? It totally looks like my old bike that I purchased from wheatridge back in 1983, turned out the bike was too big for me but I held on to it until 2008 or 2009 and then sold it someone from Lakewood. If it's the same bike I am happy to see that it has a good home. It looks much cleaner than when I sold it.

VITUS 172 DB not VITUS 888 straight gauge.

According to the decals this Moto is built with Vitus 172 double butted not Vitus 888 straight gauge. Vitus 172 was the poor mans version of Reynolds 531 db. In mho it rides every bit as nice!

You are absolutely correct.

You are absolutely correct. 888 was a pickup from the '83 Grand Touring. Noted and corrected.

Very nice!

I like the pie plate, leave it ;>)
