That has got to be the most

That has got to be the most beautiful Varsity I have ever laid eyes upon...nice work!

This is probably the best looking electro-forged conversion I've seen. Did you grind off all the cable stops and the kickstand mount? Is that the stock fork?

Thanks. Yes, I ground

Yes, I ground everything down. The kickstand was so rusted that the spring release wouldn't even work and I had to grind through to even get it out. This thing was in such bad shape when I bought it, I couldn't even ride it home from the thrift store.

No, the fork isn't stock. It was a random one they had in stock at Yellow Jersey. Because the stock forks tubing was so thick, the stem wouldn't fit into it.

Did you stay with the stock headset when you changed downstem? Great looking bike by the way

Good work.

I've been considering taking my Schwinn Continental back to the drawing board and building it up with better parts. Your bike makes me think it's actually worth the trouble.

The fork on yours looks much better than the stock Varsity forks (which pretty much weigh a ton). I think Schwinn had their own proprietary stem size, so that makes sense. Again, very good work making a cheap bike look like a million dollars.
