After a long summer of hard work, I finally got this project finished! Pictures were taken right before first ride (to maintain the pristine white of course) and it rides like a dream. Need to get some Arundel bottle cages and then it is done.

Update: Sold to fund yet another project. Ridley Compact coming soon.

How did I let this beauty

How did I let this beauty escape my notice?

Wow, sharp looking Italian

Wow, sharp looking Italian steel! I like the color scheme and "whiting" out you've done; I'm sure it felt great to complete the project and take it out for a ride. I'm in the process of whiting out my own Italian whip and looking forward to finishing it as well.

As for the wheels...yeah, low profile rims with 32x3 spokes would look more "proper," but this is still a wonderful looking bicycle. Congratulations!

Well done! Beautiful

Sweet ride! The white hoods

Sweet ride! The white hoods and the all metal group suits it very well.
One could wish for another pair of wheel though.

Thanks! So far I really

Thanks! So far I really like these wheels, but do eventually want to try something tubular. Just out of curiosity (I like to see how other people piece parts together) what would wheelset would you have used?

I would prefer an old skool

I would prefer an old skool spoke pattern to begin with, tubular or not. The front wheel looks nice though.
By the way, what year is that Veloce group from?

I suppose you are right, I wanted to go for an updated grouppo from what was originally on it. Scirocco and Athena in '97, Scirocco and Veloce from '08.
