This is my first fixed gear and my first attempt at painting a frame. I bought sheets of little square kids stickers grocery store to tape off the pattern. They're cheap, and they don't stick so well that you cant get them back off. I used farm equipment paint (Ford grey and blue) with Rustoleum clear coat to make sure it's durable enough for daily use in DC.
