1985 Kuwahara Carrera Sport - Tange 900 tubing made in Osaka Japan

ITM drops, Nitto stem was 3 bucks on another frameset I bought

Fork to be upgraded to carbon when I find one. Headset is stock stamped chrome kuwahara, it's actually really nice.

I took the stock crank out and cleaned a nice old Silstar 170mm and put that in.

I love japanese road bikes from the 80's. This Kuwahara CS had been sitting for many years when I found it, and because of it's rarity and good tubing & lightness I decided to build it into a Single Speed. It was in pretty gnarly shape when I got it and I've taken it down to the frame, fork and bottom bracket to clean it up. So I bought a crank remover and learned how to pull and install a crank on this bike which got me into novice bike mechanics. I'd really like to strip and powdercoat the frame and re-apply some decals. The only original parts I'll keep is the cool stamped headset and the frameset. Everything else is up in the air. I have really been dragging ass on this project but I've given many bikes away since I have owned it and been spread thin.

It's collecting dust.

I think I'm gonna try to get repro decals, blast it, powdercoat another color, and go from there. It isn't coming out for awhile, unless I say hell with it and put it back together as is. I dunno.

I joined so I could show you my Kuwahara. Not much info on these bikes.
