This bike is a P-15 Paramount, which was a touring model and came originally with a Campy triple crankset with 14-31 rear sprocket (which is super clunky to ride). Have all original parts in case any purists are worried.

Would not normally like converting such a bike...

I have to say, on first thought, converting something as classic as a Paramount would seem in poor taste, considering the quality of this ride stock. On the other hand, I'm thinking it's a fine call for this touring edition, and you did such a stellar job with this, it's deserves a thumbs up. The only negative I have is one of preference as I think this ride deserves something far better then that rather unsightly bar tape. Some vintage cloth tape would look classic and far better, ditto with some Cello tape. That tape just looks out of place. I might not tilt the bars so much either but that's personal taste. All in all, a really lovely looking ride. Nicely done, including keeping the original parts.

Sweet ride

This was my mode of transportation while in High School, nice ride, the girls didnt like it so I always date ones who had cars.....Nice Job on this!

Bottom Bracket

Awesome bike! I'm thinking about getting the campy track crankset from a 1973 Schwinn Paramount P-14. Do you know what kind of bottom bracket would work with those, my frame takes a 68mm english threaded?

nice touches with the waterbottle carrier and the fenders. love paramounts, your bike your story, looks great!

glad you saved the original parts

One suggestion: Know you're in California, but you might consider putting a short, correctly threaded, and well-greased bolt into the derailleur hanger. Would just hate for you to get some rust going down there.

it's criminal to convert a

it's criminal to convert a paramount. the hondo fenders are sweet looking on it though

But in this case, he did an excellent job. Very nice!
