Garage sale bike that I've refitted to carry the winter load. Just finished a frame-up restore with plenty of wax and grease in all the critical spots.
Don't get too excited about the frame; it's a Japanese Raleigh. It's not from Woksop, and the frame is Hi-ten, not 531. Otherwise I'd be bike homicide to subject it to MN roadsalts.
Fixed drivetrain cuz it's more fun. Kept down costs by using the stock hub, adding a rear caliper. Hey, it's a winter bike! Safety safety.
Added new tires and fenders, then gave it a swiss-ski team look with the read/white handlebar combo. In all about $ 150 spent.
Old Man winter can now bring it...
Edit: Now with new riser bars, Lee Chi brake levers and matching white cables. The more upright riding position helps when the winter roads are acting pernicious.
