This frame was manufactured in Kharkov, Ukraine in the 1980s. It weighs quite a bit more than a regular track frame and is built like a tank, but the ride is stiff and responsive.

Nice Bike. I have a similar frame and am looking for the head badge which is missing. Any idea where I could get one?

this bike would be even better if it had been ridden by Yakov Smirnoff.

In America, You watch TV.
In Soviet Russia, TV watch YOU!

classic. Both the bike (and Yakov) were from the Ukraine...

Weight is not so important for a track bike and this one looks the real thing. Nice to see it in this condition. I would buy it or one like it. I can well believe that it is stiff and responsive, that's the idea behind it. Congrats on a nice build. Dont ever change it. This bike is a collectable machine and reflects the Soviet era very very well.

Re: Weight.

Thanks! The only thing I might change is the headset, which is original stock and quite worn, but I really got lucky finding the matching hubs. The weight isn't really an issue because I'm just using it as a daily commuter. If anything, the added bulk probably makes it slightly easier on my body. It's a great ride!

It's a nice bike, but mainly I'm adding you because of the page title.

I bought the 'Rekord' frame and fork on my last visit to Kharkiv, but the headset fell appart during transport :( . Seems that the fork and head tube are a weird size and I am having a hard time figuring out what headset works (size?). Any have suggestions?
