This will be my first single speed bike. Becuase it only has vertical dropouts I've ordered a Surly Singleator. Unfortunately I'll have to deal with the singlespeed rather than fixie until I can either get one of the ENO hubs or a different frame as mentioned below.

UPDATE: Finally got the bike built. It rides well, I need to adjust the brakes a bit but since today was the first day of riding it, I think it went rather well.

A chain tensioner such as a Singleator will only work with a SS. The back-pressure involved in riding fixed does not allow for the use of a tensioner.

I was afraid of that, I am getting a flip flop hub as Mr. Peppermint suggested so I'll deal with the singlespeed until I can find/afford a frame with horizontal dropouts.

Is not a flip-flop, its gonna let you use the vert dropouts...go looky here & see: http://www.whiteind.com/ENO_Products/eric.html
