Andre Bertin Track Frameset Vitus Durifort Tubing

Buckled top and down tubes. Bent fork. Hopefully this will see the road and track in the near future with the help of a frame builder.

Here's some info on Durifort tubing.

It's a sort of mid level tubing, heavier than things like 531, sl, or super vitus, but definitely better than ordinary steel.

You've got a nice frame there, but it might be easy to spend more than it's worth on repairs. Of course if you really love it and don't care too much about cost, don't let me discourage you. Also, if you replace the durifort tubes with a good modern tube, the weight will go down.

Then again, maybe some straightening is possible without replacing tubes, for not too much money. Good luck with it.

re: durifort

yeah, there is a chance i might have to spend some cash but i have some options and i haven't tried to straighten it but i have a feeling i will be able to straighten it myself . i can get the forks straightened out with a good alignment and a framebuilder i know says i may be able to straighten the top and down tubes without replacing the tubes. hopefully, things go my way. i know this is durifort tubing and that it is a lower grade compared to super vitus but the frame, not the fork, feels unusually light. the fork is heavier than the frame if you can believe that.
