I have $700-800 I wanna spend on a new frame set which includes frame, fork, headset. I prefer the frame to have a black/red or white/ red colorway, would be nice to have lugged and much prefer the frame to be steel. Also if it can take vittorai Randoneur 700x28c tires on the rear would be nice too.Any suggestions? I will be riding this for commuting/road so alum track frames that are not road friendly are not welcome. Thanks!

I got a bareknuckle for around $500 with a headset... You can also check out Sanner Cycles, who will make you a custom built frameset for $500

Been wanting a barenuckle really badly heard they are discontinued so i assume the prices gone up? Sanner cycles is a great website will defiantly take into consideration but its just a little too expensive.

Sanner might build you a frame for $500 but unfortunately youre gonna have to pay another $160 for the fork. I want the level 2 sanner, thats next on my list.

Affinity isn't bad - I've tested their frames a couple of times, super stiff and responsive. The geo might not make sense for daily commute, but I've seen plenty of people in brooklyn use them for that. they run about 500 for the pursuit style frame and 800 for the real deal track frame... affinitycycles.com

One of the custom builders that has made frames for years for many of the top bike companies is Tom Teesdale. Looks like you may just be able to pick up one of his custom built frames for your money. Each one is built specifically and I don't think that he has a "stock" frame or inventory. Check it out:
