man, search this stuff out. there's probably been a hundred different threads about this on here.

    ^ agreed.

but since I make the same mistake sometimes, I'll answer.

My roomie has the black vuelta wheels off ebay for 100 bucks with tires, tubes, cog and lockring. He has ridden it for 3 years now and it's holding up great. He doesn't to any tricks at all (it's super light but will probably crumble if you try any freestyle tricks).

"Results 1 to 5 for Vuelta"

Only one applicable, but from it I am going to stay away.

Would you suggest Alex Sub Track or Mavic CXP22?

    Mavics for sure.

I had a Vuelta wheelset as my first - I got a killer deal and they were light and held up really well even through a couple bad wrecks. I can't complain about them, that's certain.

they have held up great for me, 2 accidents and a couple of curb jumps over the last year and a half and all they really needed was a good wheel truing. I suggest buying them if you are just starting or looking for a greater beater wheel-set.
